Dr. Saravanakumar Gurusamy, an academician and researcher, has trying to make significant contributions to the field of engineering, particularly in instrumentation and control engineering. Born in Seithur, Tamil Nadu, India, He has emerged as a distinguished figure in the realm of engineering, particularly in instrumentation and control engineering. With an illustrious academic journey that commenced with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, followed by a Master of Technology in Control and Instrumentation Engineering, and culminating in a Ph.D., His educational path set the foundation for a career marked by innovation, mentorship, and scholarly achievement.
Embarking on his professional voyage as a Lecturer at Lakshmi Ammal Polytechnic College, His dedication to imparting knowledge was evident early on. His transition to an Assistant Professor at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) and subsequent roles in Ethiopia at the University of Gondar (UoG) and the FDRE TVT Institute (FTI) as an Associate Professor underscore his commitment to elevating engineering education on a global scale.
His research interests are as diverse as they are profound, encompassing evolutionary algorithms for control problems, nonlinear system identification, multivariable PID controller, model predictive control, autonomous vehicles, mobile robotics, and the pioneering area of Digital Twin technology. His work is characterized by a relentless pursuit of solutions to complex engineering problems, aiming not just for academic recognition but for the betterment of humanity through technological advancement.
A prolific researcher and a revered mentor, Dr. Gurusamy has guided teams to notable success in international competitions such as the AfRoboCup, highlighting his ability to inspire and lead the next generation of engineers. His extensive publication record in top-tier journals and conferences further attests to his expertise and significant contributions to the field of control systems and robotics.
Beyond his academic and research accomplishments, his professional affiliations with prestigious societies like IEEE, where he holds senior membership, and ISTE, reflect his esteemed standing in the engineering community. Currently serving as the Secretary of the IEEE Ethiopia Subsection, he continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the engineering profession and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
